Sigma Introduces the 35mm F1.4 DG II | Art, Advancing the Standard Set by its Original Classic

Press Releases
2026.02.24

India, February 24th, 2026: Sigma introduces two new lenses that elevate optical performance across formats. The Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG II | Art redefines the Art line with exceptional resolution, refined bokeh, and a more compact, lightweight design for stills and video.

Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG II | Art: The Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG II Art lens delivers the highest optical performance in Sigma’s 35mm F1.4 Art line, offering exceptional edge-to-edge resolution even at maximum aperture. Advanced optical design suppresses aberrations while producing rich, natural bokeh, with reduced flare and ghosting. Despite its performance, the lens features a refined, compact, and lightweight design with fast, quiet autofocus.

Available mounts: L-Mount, Sony E-mount

Key Features

  • The best optical performance ever in Sigma’s 35mm F1.4 Art line
  • A refined, compact and lightweight design
  • Designed for comfortable shooting of both stills and video

Exceptional Resolution Across the Entire Frame from Maximum Aperture

Built on Sigma’s latest optical design technology, the completely redesigned 15-element, 12-group construction delivers extraordinarily detailed rendering that surpasses previous generations of the 35mm F1.4 Art line. By incorporating new glass materials previously difficult to process, along with four high-precision aspherical elements and two SLD glass elements, the lens thoroughly suppresses aberrations, particularly axial chromatic aberration, which is common in large-aperture lenses. Sigma’s rigorous Art line standards ensure outstanding resolution across the entire frame, even at maximum aperture.

Rich and Beautiful Bokeh Without Colour Bleeding

By thoroughly correcting axial chromatic aberration, the lens suppresses colour fringing in both in-focus and out-of-focus areas, producing natural, smooth bokeh. An 11-blade rounded diaphragm maintains a circular shape even when stopped down, while highly refined aspherical element surface accuracy enables beautifully round and consistent bokeh.

Newly Developed AAC (Advanced Amorphous Coating)

The newly developed AAC coating features a low-refractive-index amorphous layer that significantly reduces reflections responsible for ghosting and flare, delivering exceptionally clear, high-contrast image quality.

Pursuing Uncompromising Compactness and Lightness

By adopting a floating focus system, the lens achieves enhanced optical performance while maintaining a more compact and lightweight design. Compared to its predecessor, the Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG DN | Art, it is approximately 14% shorter and 20% lighter. Extensive mechanical design optimisations ensure uncompromising portability without sacrificing performance.

Fast and Quiet Autofocus with Dual HLA System

The lens employs Sigma’s dual HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) system, enabling fast, accurate, and quiet autofocus even with a large and heavy focus group. This ensures reliable performance for both still photography and video recording.

The Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG II | Art will be available April 16, 2026 at authorized Sigma dealers for Sony E-mount and L-Mount for a retail price of ₹96,500.00.
