Sigma today announced the launch of the Sigma AF Cine 28–105mm T3 FF, the second addition to its AF Cine Line, designed to meet the evolving demands of professional cinema production. Built on the optical performance of Sigma’s acclaimed Art lenses and combined with cinema-style mechanics and advanced autofocus technology, the new lens offers filmmakers a versatile solution for full-frame filmmaking across a wide range of shooting scenarios.

The optical system of the Sigma 28–105mm T3 FF is based on the design of the highly acclaimed still lens, the Sigma 28–105mm F2.8 DG DN | Art. Drawing on years of lens design expertise, the latest development technologies, and the advanced manufacturing processes at Sigma’s sole production base—the Aizu factory—the lens delivers exceptional resolution and beautiful bokeh across all focal lengths and focus positions, along with a sharp, clean image characterised by minimal flare and ghosting.

Professional-grade mechanical design and operability

Building on the rendering performance and reliability of Sigma’s Art lenses, the AF Cine Line incorporates cinema-style mechanics and operability optimised for professional film production. Key features include a limited-rotation focus ring, industry-standard 0.8M pitch gears, and a clickless aperture ring, all designed to meet the practical demands of the cinema industry.

AF system with excellent tracking capability and near-silent operation

Powered by a linear motor HLA (High-response Linear Actuator), the Sigma AF Cine Line supports precise focus control during intense action scenes, rapid focus transitions in gimbal or handheld shooting, and unpredictable documentary scenarios. This system ensures accurate, near-silent autofocus performance, enabling filmmakers to capture critical moments without compromise across a wide range of shooting conditions.

The Sigma AF Cine 28-105mm T3 FF will be available April 16, 2026 at authorized Sigma Cine dealers for Sony E-mount and L-Mount for a retail price of ₹3,20,000.00.
